POST ZERO - A Tina Fey styled introduction
It all started with a Big Bang!
Not the popular TV series people. But it was a sense of realization from a partnership. They say that every single word to define interaction between two people can be applied to Marriage. Marriage, sometimes can be a friendship where you just want to confide every single thought and action at the end of each day. Marriage can be companionship where you hunt all the home decor stores not just in your city but across cities until you find the perfect things to set up your perfect home. Marriage can also be enmity, which, as defined by a few married friends of mine, means all you want to do is hunt the other person down and shoot him. It makes sense as living with someone 24x7 can cause an itch in your nerves. Marriage can at times be a mentor-mentee relationship where you trust the instincts of the other and navigate through life. Marriage can be a teenage dream (as sung by Katty Perry) where you want to simply wear the tightest jeans and watch fireworks. I can go on with this list. In short marriage, which to this date is a traditional institution. But you just have to choose to decorate it with your own ornaments.
While writing this post, I was struck with the realization of how much of a partnership marriage is and the need for me to fulfill my part. For me partnership means playing your part to get the machine of life alive and kicking.Let me give you a context for my thoughts. Suddenly for the past couple of months, my life has thrown some surprises and challenges. The 24 hours of my day is spent either working, working out or working at home. Let me correct myself, only 16 hours spent on these. The rest 8 are spent on sleep and other activities :P I dont see any remnant of my 'single' life these days. Whereas I observed my husband somehow took out time to pursue the love of his life (I forcefully call it the 'other' love) photography. This got me thinking, I somehow need to revive my talents otherwise I am the one who is going to be hunt down and shot for getting on his nerves.
Well I always claimed writing as my talent and proudly declared that I will quit my job at the age of 50 to write a book. If anyone ever asked me 'Can I see a recent piece?' my answer would be 'I first want to experience enough before I write'. Slow claps to myself for the cover up. The truth is other than a few idealistic writings during my college days I dont think I have written enough or taken time out to do so. Here goes my first attempt to write sincerely. I still stand by my reply 'I haven't experienced enough to write'. All I am going to write about is a few observations, a few random thoughts and mockery which is probably one of my fine talents.
